Do you want to have a gap year?
Have you just finished college / university and want to travel?
Have you qualified in Early Years education?
Have you been working in a nursery and fancy a change?
Well working as an au pair in America could be for you. Gaining a visa to work in America is incredibly difficult so if you like childcare then this is a great way to combine experiencing another culture with being an au pair. Cherish Childcare is the UK partner for one of the leading au pair companies in America, Au Pair International. Who can apply?
To be an au pair in the USA you must:-
- be 18-26 years old
- enjoy caring for children
- have at least 200 hours practical experience
- have completed your secondary school education
- have no criminal record
- able to commit to 12 months living with an American family
- have not previously been an au pair in the USA
Option 1: Au Pair Program
Candidates that qualify must have a minimum of 200 hours recent practical childcare experience. In order to care for infants (under 2 years) your experience must be with this age group.
Option 2: Au pair Professionnel
This program allows you to combine the au pair year with your career advancement. In order to qualify you must be at least 20 years old and have a recognised childcare qualification or have 2 years recent fulltime childcare experience.
Both programs give you the opportunity to experience the American culture from within, share day-to-day life with an American family, study, travel, play and have an adventure of a lifetime. If this sounds fun then being an au pair in America is for you. How to Apply?
